It’s just a purchase of digital content. No different in concept than selling a stock photo download, a mp3 on iTunes, etc. , except with no thumbnail or preview to even know what you’re buying 😅
Don't blame me nostr:npub1cmmswlckn82se7f2jeftl6ll4szlc6zzh8hrjyyfm9vm3t2afr7svqlr6fdesigned it 🤣🤣
Lol 🤣 this wasn’t meant to pick on you. I’ll zap you for your troubles good sir 💜🤙 Paywalls can be useful for certain things but I’ve seen several people call them “value for value” and it’s a different concept. Paywalls are just selling access to digital content. No different than iTunes, ebooks, stock photography, etc., while V4V is a different approach.

Agreed, it’s just a transaction but that doesn’t make it a bad thing
They are bad if your goal is to generate income from content. It’s a tale as old as Napster, and even older.
iTunes? Amazon? A million other successful business that sell content behind a paywall
Yes these exist, as do software companies like Microsoft and Adobe, all of which have been fighting against digital piracy since inception. You may also have noticed they are all moving to subscription/streaming models. If someone wants to sell digital downloads, there is nothing from stopping them from trying. They just need to treat it as that, a digital sale of a product, and with that comes all the challenges of trying to protect sales of easily reproducible data. Value for value is a different approach.
I agree.
It took me a little while to grasp the V4V concept.
It's not simply a transaction in which real money is used.
It is giving with an expectation of value being reciprocated in the future. It's non transactional & comes from a mindset of abundance rather than scarcity.
It's a beautiful thing to participate in. It teaches you a lot about yourself & your own values/beliefs.
Transactions are good but have you tried value for value?
