Yes, in #Indonesia you often get random things as change… sausages, candy—or nothing at all!!! Why is that? Because the weak value of the currency makes small amounts like 500 and 1000 #Rupiah often neglected. Plus, banks don’t circulate enough change, so stores rarely have it on hand.
In addition to the impact of #inflation, people are repeatedly losing small amounts of money which over time adds up and disproportionately affects those with lower incomes, undermining fairness and trust in everyday transactions.
Today, I was lucky and got some vitamins at the pharmacy. 🙃
