Organizations and businesses have governing bodies. The governing bodies determine the rules where their ownership resides. A board of directors is a governing body. They do not have the right to impose rules on others outside of their organization. The same applies here. If you own land, you are the sole governing body of that land. You determine the rules.

For example, the twitter governing body belongs to Elon. He can create rules and change whatever he wants. If you don’t like it you are free to use or create an alternative. That’s why we’re on nostr.
