Haha! Well it definitely is an effect out there. I don't know whether that effect is stronger or weaker than it used to be, or how many of the cases of women being gay are caused by an impression of the available men less desirable than what they would prefer. I would guess it has gone up. Also low expectations of men from father figures or lack thereof.

Ooh, I haven't yet come across anything from Sowell on gay statistics and sociological considerations, would be fascinating to see. I really like his work on family culture and welfare handouts and whatnot. And the epistemology and metaphilosophy of the Vision of the Anointed vs the Tragic Vision laid out in his Vision of the Anointed book, beautiful, essential reading, that!
