Hi nostr, i'm calling it a day now, after a super busy weekend with family visiting. Got the bnb cabin cleaned already, since we have someone checking in on Tuesday. One of the mini split units is not working in there, so i'm having a guy come out to look at it tomorrow. Everyone says how great they are, but we've had lots of problems with ours. I'm to the point where i may just get a couple window units for the cabin, but have them installed into a wall with a cutout for the units. We'll see.

Can you trust on mini split technicians there? Here you have to be lucky to find someone who really fix it 😕

That’s a bummer about the mini splits. Are they wall mounted or ceiling? Brand?

I installed 6 units in our house and the only problems we’ve had with them have been my fault 🤦‍♂️

Ours are wall mounted, Daikin brand. Maybe its just a cheap brand, it came with the little building. We've had to have them repaired multiple times in the last 4-5 yrs that we've had them, actually replaced one of them. Plus they dont seem to do great in extreme temps, very hot or very cold. Its frustrating, and my thinking is with window units, at least they are easily replaceable and not too expensive if they quit working. If I switch to those, i prefer to have a cutout in a wall for mounting, instead of in a window. We'll see what the repair guy says today.
