Someone please give me the arguments *against* MWEB on Bitcoin.
Why has it disappeared from the discussion, what is the history on that?
Genuine question, cuz I feel under-informed.

You're barking the wrong tree here. If you ask on twitter, you'll get bombarded by the ossify and filteroors crowd.
I think MWEB wasn't going to get far in discussions about Bitcoin because both Confidential Transactions itself failed to get the huge traction it would need, but also because extension blocks got pushback.
I can expand a lot on the former point if you like but don't know much about the latter.
But I mean who knows. EBs do at least have that element of decoupling.
