Proof-of-stake is a political system that leads to a Babylonian confusion of tongues. Lacking an objective arbiter of work & time, it is a fiat design that inevitably strands in a bureaucratic doom loop.
Plus if your Tower of Babel is built with poor engineering the beacon chain will fail to finalize and everyone dies.
