Because my old Laptop broke and I've read alot about thinkpads, good as bad reviews.

I need it mainly for writing and work, something not to heavy but with solid processing.

I’ll say that the thinkpad line has fallen off since IBM sold out, but the build quality is still superior to all general consumer grade model competitors and a good chunk of business grades too. Cosmetic durability varies. Upgradability is usually a hinderance across like model competitors, but still has comparables & often a few nice added touches.

Solid processing is too subjective. An i5 is sufficient for most people, memory & storage media is usually the bottleneck, not cpu. 32gb ram or bust. Word processing isn’t intensive in any form.

Buy it used on eBay or, ideally, from a nearby electronics recycler - new laptops are a racket.
