I think even your claim of creating "pure value" is subject to the same dynamic.

You see the lack of a sponsor as "pure value", but that's just your intention. The audience is the one who decides if an episode was actually valuable to them. You don't get to grade your own work.

I did not say “pure value” — I said “pure value FOR VALUE.”

The distinction matters.

If you find it valuable, give value back. If you don’t, don’t.

Yes, that's what I wanted to point out -- value isn't real until the listener decides it's valuable (and gives value back).
