Oh, don't get me wrong. I was a 19 years old who LOVED playing Mega Man Anniversary collection on the PS2. 6 NES games, 2 SNES and a PS1 game. And 2 arcade games.

I would often get wrecked by those.

It's not a bad argument. It's true. Most kids could never beat those games. It was usually the minority of them. The cool kid who beat Contra. Etc.

Why do you think Metal Slug games with kids playing them meant a gold mine for the arcades? Because kids would die every fucking 2 minutes.

Another example: Castlevania III I imagine out of 100 kids who tried it, only less than 5 beat it. Brutal game.

It's true - the games were not made for children but they were marketed to them. That's why it's fundamentally dishonest to claim vidya addiction is a "manchild" problem. It may be a waste of time but it is not particularly childish.

Indeed. NGL but I have better chances of acing my uni test next week than if someone told me I have to beat to beat the NES Ninja Gaiden by then.

"Fuck this shit. Lemme grab the textbook lmao"
