So, I did some work today doing a massive API log of (most of) the accounts on Bluesky Social. Atm, the list includes 300 accounts, which will likely get much larger soon. Because I'm not so sure when the team will open it up to another batch of people, I've been considering making a very basic client that wraps all the posts of these users into a feed-like thing. The development of this will be more so for the people who don't have access (like me), and are just curious on what happens on there from the day-to-day. Unfortunately, images cannot be retrieved, as they require user authentication to do so. I believe the same goes for polls, but I've not looked into it. However, I'd say a majority of the posts on the platform can still be viewed. It is disappointing that I wasn't able to get any images. Might've been able to share a few screenshots people took of the app. šŸ‘€ On the topic of just plain posts and user accounts though, it's quite easy to extract them from the API. Just opening that up for discussion in case any are interested on what goes on in there.

Now I’m pondering the ethicality of that.
