To grow and become good at something, we need to feel certain emotions enough times. Specifics and duration vary depending on a skill. Most don't become good because they avoid certain emotions connected to the activity.

The gym requires pain, for example. If you avoid pain, you will never be jacked.

Becoming a good communicator requires embarrassment and anxiety.

And growing and progressing in general requires discomfort.

If you are willing to feel what is necessary, you can become great at anything!
