I've been using 1password for years but it looks like there's now a apk available, play store only. Reading through the GrapheneOS documentation it looks like its playstore sandbox is pretty solid, but are then any issues with it being a password manager?
Should I look into bitwarden or some other option?

yes, graphene's playstore sandbox is good and but it's not optimal to get your apps from google whenever possible. here's a good flow for getting aps:
apk > f-droid (use f-droid basic for unattended updates) > google play store.
1password is not open source. i recommend bitwarden paid version (it's cloud based so depending on your threat model) and keepass. they are both rock solid open source password managers.

Sounds like the perfect time to make a switch and I recommend Bitwarden as well. You can get the APK on FDroid directly from bitwarden's repo. They also have releases on GitHub you can install the APK directly from there or via Obtanium ( my new favourite way to install and update apps)
I like this app install order of priority personally. Curious what others think.
1. APK via Obtanium https://github.com/ImranR98/Obtainium
2. APK via F-Droid https://f-droid.org/
3. Aurora - Playstore alternative without the need to login with a Google account. Available in FDroid.
4. Playstore - last resort if absolutely necessar. Install through GrapheneOS sandboxed play services. Create throw away Google account and install apps (I haven't had to do this yet, all previous methods work) Even logging into a Google account with bogus info creeps me out. Sandboxed or not, No thanks.
Have a look at Bitwarden. Highly recommend it.
