Heard a loud bang, thought it was some teenagers fucking around but then the sirens started and I turned on the scanner to learn that someone flipped their car nearby. Now the medi-vac chopper is on the way. Sounds like a DUI situation.

Let me tell you something that I have learned about living on tiny little islands--it's a bad place to flip your car. Chopper is an hour out, and the accident was 30 minutes ago.
Also the praise so regularly heaped on fire fighters is well deserved. They seem to do most of the heavy lifting in the emergency services, at least in these tiny remote communities with only one ambulance, no hospital and like three cops.
