5 things always tell my friends that are just learning about bitcoin:

1. NEVER DISCUSS YOUR BITCOIN

Don’t ever discuss the amount of bitcoin you have.

2. NOT YOUR KEYS, NOT YOUR COINS

If you don’t have access to your private keys, then you don’t have access to your coins

3. YOUR SEED IS YOUR KEY

Your 12/24 word seed gives you access to your coins. Make sure you back it up.

4. IF IT IS TOO GOOD YO BE TRUE, THEN ITS NOT TRUE

Nobody in this world wants to give you free bitcoin or 2x your btc. If they say they do, then it’s a scam.

Funny Note: This is really something I tell my friends so when I tell them, “on Nostr people can send you a sat zap if they found your post useful, interesting, entertaining, or for whatever reason.” And they ALL have said something along the lines of, “But is it a scam? Maybe they want my wallet address so they can try to hack me? Why would anyone give me their sats? You said if someone offers this it’s a scam.” 👩‍🎓🙏😂🫂💕

5. PUT YOUR TRUST IN BITCOIN; KEEP ELSEWHERE WHAT YOU CAN AFORD TO LOSE

And then I teach them to DCA

Right on!👍

They are fortunate to have you as a friend, Duchess. Here are a few more tips:

6. Avoid hardware wallets and businesses that support shitcoins.

7. Be extra skeptical of individuals who frequently use terms like 'crypto,' 'blockchain,' and 'web3.' They may fall into one of three categories: scammers, gamblers, or individuals who lack a solid understanding of Bitcoin.

8. Learn how to create and manage multi-signature wallets for enhanced security. The best time to learn this is when you don’t need it.

9. Learn about UTXO management. This is easy when use software wallets like Sparrow.

🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 and I’m fortunate to have you add to my list of starter tips 👌
