Over the years I've given away, spent, lost, burned, gambled and otherwise wasted more bitcoin than I'll ever retrieve. I even lost a load when my yacht burned down in 2020. Not kidding. That hurt.

I believe every sat I spent or gave away was worth it. Pushing for and encouraging adoption and use was critical in those earlier years.

It still is, but the bitcoin economy has changed and evolved. As such, my spending habits are changing and evolving.

These days I'm mindful that if I sell bitcoin, there's a fair chance that BlackRock or some other bastard entity will hoover it up and I'll never see those sats again.

Even if I spend it via a card which converts my sats at point of sale, or gift cards from great companies like bitrefill. People who I don't want to have cheap sats get a chance to grab them.

So, in bitcoins 16th year, I will stack and only ever spend my precious sats with other bitcoiners who I know will likely either save it or spend it with other bitcoiners. I refuse to directly empower people that hate me.

Aren't yachts insured? 🙁

When you insure them, yeah 😄

I brought it from a mate, I had one more payment to make on it then I was going to insure it and move it to a nearby marina, do it all properly. In the meantime, because he's a mate, he let me move everything on there in preparation.

Laptop, tablet, hardware wallets, back ups...all in one place, exactly the opposite to what I always preached. Lost all my nice clothes, camera gear, passport etc as well. Even gifts from my daughter. Now everything I have is distributed among multiple different locations, not just my bitcoin.

Omfg, fuck 🥹 well, you're alive and a lot smarter... that's all that matters 🫂
