The “estimated” premature deaths are fucking nonsense and yet politicians and academics are going around parroting the findings as though they’re gospel. No-one in the media is challenging it either.
In the real world this is going to force people into buying EVs which are completely unfit for purpose, driving up prices on cars and home batteries, and literally leaving people stranded in this giant country.
The parasites literally have no clue how the real world works but they’ll make #AUStriches find this out the hard way.. 
The real problem is that those politicians would be genuinely astonished to read the comments.
They live in bubbles full of inner-city academics, lawyers and bureaucrats, and before announcing this bs policy heard nothing but applause.
Our Establishment conservatives are not better, but they are different. When they slither back into the Lodge, they'll change the standards, but only for fleet vehicles and those serviced exclusively in dealerships...
It’s all ideological bullshit from a bunch of fart sniffers. None of them have ever worked a real job, they go from Uni into trade unions or NGOs or staffing for other polis and if they’re good enough at backstabbing they’ll make politics.
They haven’t worked construction, they haven’t done manual labour, they haven’t run a business, they haven’t had to sell anything, never run books, never managed people, never managed risk - the only environment they know is shoving legislation down people’s throats to make their donors happy.
How is this policy going to help people in Broome? Or in Alice Springs? Or Port Lincoln? Or Broken Hill? How about Aboriginal communities?
They have no concept of how people live and work in these places. The lack of infrastructure to support a shift completely to EVs. How far people have to travel for work. How vehicles are used in farming or mining or even tourism and trades.
But they read the climate Marxists at the University of Naarm’s report and saw 11,105 people die every year from vehicle emissions and instead of asking which arsehole this number was plucked out of, they decide they can fix it by passing more legislation.
There is only so far the productive class can take these giant parasites on their back sucking their life’s energy from them and I imagine we’re just a few years from finding the limits.
Some of them actually have done those things, I've spoken to them. But within a year they are thoroughly captured by The System, like some prehistoric bug in amber.
Half of each major Party are lawyers, and 3/4th of those never practised, going straight from uni to staffer/lobbyist/union.
They genuinely believe “politician” is something that takes years to learn and should be reserved for their pipeline of political party scumbags who go through years of the backstabbing and horse trading to get to the top.
I remember them mocking Ricky Muir when he was elected because he didn’t know procedural stuff of parliament - that shit isn’t exactly a life skill and can be learned easily, it’s not some esoteric knowledge that one needs years of study and multi-disciplinary background to grok; it needs a fucking pamphlet.
Nothing will improve whilst this political system is in place. It’s entirely captured in the modern way of fascism where no-one actually talks about the fascism out loud, they hide behind “liberal democracy” and then work hand-in-glove with private interests to use legislation to fuck everyone for their benefit.
