No. It's probably anecdotal, based on experiences I've heard from old oil hounds. So, it's not exactly something that I have heard of as being studied, but, also, is supported by our current advances in technology funding ever more oil reserves that can be tapped. In my estimation, this isn't consistent with the theory of both the age of the earth and also flies in the face of the conventional thought about how oil and coal forms, since it is usually assumed that coal and oil were formed at vaguely the same time, but, if that's the case, then why are oil and coal found in vastly different strata/geological areas.

I could be wrong and I don't know as much about this as I'd like, but... It just makes me go "hmmmm..." Ya know?

A quick search shows a pretty wild variety of opinions on the matter, but, that acknowledges that it is a legit phenomenon.
