Last year I started a bit too early and by the time we were past last frost many of our plants were very leggy and did not fare so well come transplant time...waited a bit longer to start them this season, we'll see if my timing works out better ...

Hi, what are these plants ?

These are all cucumber in the photo....I always start more than I need because some will inevitably not make it....

Will it continue to grow indoors or outdoor ? In my country it is the very beginning of the gardien.

I am in zone 5b, our last frost averages around the end of may so these will stay inside close to that time then get moved outside for at least a few days to help acclimate and then transplanted into the gardens....that's the plan anyways, it always varies due to my work schedule, etc...sometimes I get lucky and everything works great, sometimes it's a fail....

Zone 5b here too

It never fails, if I get stuff in the ground early (which I would prefer) we'll get another frost and I scramble to try and cover shit up, last few years I just wait a little bit longer...

We used to plant after Mother’s Day but now it’s closer to Memorial Day weekend

That’s how it works for me! I’m in 5b. Our average last frost date is around June 15th. Last year I didn’t get things planted until July 4th.

Yeah, better later vs. Early seems to work best here. While everything else is greening up I'm chomping at the bit tho

It is so hard to wait!

Yes indeed!

You're last year is my this year. Doh

That's the mistake I made this year. Hoping things grow anyway when I get them in the ground.

Ours are leggy this year. Going to plant deep with everything I can.

Well good luck to you. It never went well for me, especially the ones I started with hydro, with the huge root masses. Live and learn

Cucumbers grow best when direct sown, in my experience, but of course you’ll have more weeds if you direct sow. Do you have enough light? Sometimes that can make them leggy. Good luck!
