It has a price. I look at price. I consider market mechanics.
Replace ETH with another Ticker if you like.

As for what some people do with ETH , I've read up. Watched Andreas Antonopoulous etc. They have their choice I have mine. Markets are markets, some people study them and applying their experiences accordingly.
The price only goes down. Not typically what people look for in an investment.
