One of the primary tenants of Tails is leaving no trace on shutdown. A VM by definition is not ephemeral in the sense you need some type of destroy operation to take it out. It is also difficult to rig a dead man’s switch on such a setup in my opinion. If there’s points are not a concern, than I suppose there are benefits to having the tails stack knowing you are leaving traces on disk.

and if my primary concern is anonymisation of my online presence. e.g. If I want be completely anonymous on #nostr without the need ot remember to have tor active etc.

Would there be any better solution?

Tails is a decent solution for that use case. I’d run it on a dedicated piece of compute, like a cheap used eBay Lenovo Thinkpad. Boot from USB. Run it with no battery (pull power cable) or something like this https://www.bus kill.in/demo-2/ for a dead man’s switch.
