passkeys have never worked for me, reading this it now makes sense. What a ux disaster.

They work for me using bitwarden with self hosted instance but just on desktop.
Haven't tried using it with separate hardware devices. All the UX concerns are more than valid.
Shame... I hate username+password scheme
