Sweet ... mikrotik with custom OS or the stock base?

Stock, any recommendations?
I will start from here https://openwrt.org/toh/mikrotik/start just to check if there is an alternative. Stock is still valid.
Looking like it should work! I will give it a shot later. It should be nice to make it work with OpenWRT instead of RouterOS.
