In 1938, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain attempted to appease Hitler’s expansionist appetite by offering the German dictator about 20% of Czechoslovakia. Chamberlain’s goal was to prevent another world war, but all he achieved was to show Hitler the weakness of the West, ultimately helping lead the world into World War II.
Now, in 2025, Trump wants to offer Putin about 20% of Ukraine to avoid another world war, but all he will accomplish is showing Putin the weakness and lack of unity in the West.
"A peace built on the humiliation of the victim, rewarding Russia for its aggression, would not be a true peace; it would be a betrayal! We Czechs know very well what it feels like to experience such betrayal!"
– Petr Pavel, President of the Czech Republic.
