helping out ppl with Umbrel has made me realise how scary the recovery process for lightning (particularly LND) can be.
sucks for a SSD to be corrupted or your node to crash, and then being unable to access your funds, for weeks & weeks, is a good outcome.
Auto-channel backups helps, right.
Setting up watchtowers helps right?

for sure, auto-channel back-ups don’t seem to be perfect either tho. no-one seems to use watchtowers which is interesting.
Setting up watchtower was a command prompt operation afaik not gui and almost nobody knows what it even is.
Too reckless.
I’d open up a few small channels if some friends wanted my help as a watchtower.
I just don’t understand all the code on my node so I’d take it slow.
