No trust me, people were kicking off about immigration. The ‘stop the boats’ meme has been strong here for a couple of years (fact is migrants arrive on rubber dinghies). But there’s clearly more going on in terms of peoples anger and tension here. I’ve seen enough posts on here, although still originating from X that clearly demonstrate a lot of people blame all problems here on migrants.

It is the law here that minors under the age of 18 have their identities protected when involved in criminal activity. That’s not some shit I’m making up. Nor is it something I’m saying is right or wrong, it’s just the truth.

A lie was completely fabricated about the identity of the murderer. It appears to have originated from a news source at first glance based in Lahore, India but further investigation leads to Austin, Texas. The lie then propagated on X.

I take your point, there’s definitely some fuckry going on but there’s key points missing from the dialogue I’ve seen here which is then run with from people across the globe.

Islam has been the bogeyman since 2001. It’s been cynically manipulated in this case.
