Takes as long as it takes. These lessons will teach everyone in time. But its good to share the speedbumps along the way.

I think the stupid gold coin stock photos probably set back bitcoin discovery for so many people. The concept took me over a year to grasp from the first time I heard about it too. For a while, I thought the only way to use it was to be a miner, and that seemed too outside my area of expertise that I didn’t take another look at it until I eventually saw an Andreas Antonopoulos video where it all began to make sense.

Something intangible like bitcoin is so foreign to humanity - inevitable we’d try to represent it with something physical. I get what you’re sayin tho. Good point

Its like skeuomorphic design that confuses people and keeps their brains trapped in the old ways

Hey we designed your website to look like a TV set from 1983.

😂

How brain works with association.. that was the gap we had to overcome with that shitty gold painted bit_koin

That interesting, I was kind of different in that I was sold on the tech, proof of work, and understood a fairly decent amount how it worked in 2017, but it wasn’t until 2020 and all the shenanigans that I really went don’t the rabbit hole and truly understand it from a social-politico-economical standpoint. I had a hard time explaining the “why” to people because they didn’t care about the “how” as much then. Now I know both including deeper parts like lightning, and taproot/ordinals.

PS-Faketoshi is still faketoshi and he hasn’t yet proven me, a judge or anyone otherwise. Suck it CSW!

Andreas doesn’t gets the credit he deserves. Dude was the foundation for me to get started digging deeper cause he forced me to ask myself the right questions which in turn kept the curiously going and began that journey. Dude is a legend.

Yeah as for the physical gold coin images, i remember it clear as day ‘if its a digital currency why am I seeing these physical bitcoins?!?’ And the whole Casascius coins thing made it even more confusing.
