ENNIO MORRICONE
(November 10, 1928 - July 6, 2020)
The legendary Italian composer of over 500 scores for television and cinema (including some of the most iconic film scores in history), as well as over 100 classical works.
Nominated for 6 Oscars for Best Original Score, Morricone received the Academy Honorary Award in 2007 "for his magnificent and multifaceted contributions to the art of film music".
In 2016, he received his only competitive Academy Award for his score to Quentin Tarantino's film, "The Hateful Eight", at the time becoming the oldest person to ever win a competitive Oscar.
