what film is this?

Dune

I may have an unpopular opinion about these movie series, but I did not like them and could not get through the second one.

The cinematics IMP were great.

And to some degree the kid who played Paul was true to the character.

But chani was important in the book; and one of Paul’s biggest supporters.

In the movie, she’s this little brat. Annoying, arrogant, and…well.. there was no acting. It was just that chick being herself. Insufferable

Agree, the cinematography was excellent. That's what kept me around to finish the first one.

It’s true to that Chani become a character of suspicion and doubt instead of a supporter of Paul. But I don’t think it was a simple we can’t make the woman character look weak kind of decision but more like a comment that Frank Herbert made. He would like to have the character of Paul as a warning for Mesiah figures. The reason he wrote the second book that he felt he was failed to make it felt like a warning and everybody was on board with the messiah figure :). So I think that is why I think they made Channi as she is in the movies. And it is just basically free source of drama so I think it was difficult to resist I don’t know :)

diversity kills everything

It truly does

Yeah way to make that character a pile of shit.

Imagine making two really long movies with huge Budget and the best scenes are harvesters being deployed and shit. 😵‍💫

🤦🏻‍♂️
