If you haven’t already, you should read “They Thought They Were Free” by Milton Mayer. Great sociological study on post WW2 normie Germans. Second half of the book has a bit too many liberal idealist generalizations for my taste but the first half is quite humbling. Lots of eerily poignant passages sprinkled throughout which are relevant to our present crisis.
