It's incredibly paradoxical that perhaps the most insular, introverted and ethnically homogenous nation on earth has ended up wielding more cultural power than anywhere else of earth... It's not even close.
What's even wilder is that they weren't even trying to pander, or dilute the Japanese-ness of their creations.
"Oh, you like big houses, big cars, big boomboxes, big meals and machismo? Well, here's a small, cute and vaguely effeminate everything!"
