Also, to move away for previous years third party tracking, I can begin to enter all of the data from previous years in CSV format, organizing the data as I need. Will take a little bit of time, but have one giant excel spreadsheet of this and calculating the realized gain/loss is what I would need to report, but separating the calculation for long term and short term

Agreed. I have a csv of all buy/sells with cost basis. A couple issues I have with nostr:npub1ex7mdykw786qxvmtuls208uyxmn0hse95rfwsarvfde5yg6wy7jq6qvyt9 (I think they’re working on this)
1. Inputting cost basis when you move coin onto strike to sell. Strike doesn’t have this feature. It makes the 1099 form nice and easy.
2. Strike defaults to HIFO cost basis. Which becomes a problem when you want to move coins off strike to cold storage. How do you know what that cost basis of those coins is? If it was FIFO it would be easier to determine. HIFO takes a lot more effort to accurately determine this.
