I’m studying Spanish but honestly the translation apps are pretty great. I have used one for most of our meetings with attorneys, etc in ES
I want to really immerse myself in the culture of the places I visit. For casual conversation I’d like to know the language. Plus, I’m not proud of being an American who only speaks English. Plus, local coastguards and customs treat you better if you know their language, so I’ve been told.
