I will defer on the question of German poetry. The compound words could probably be used to pretty good effect. But you get my point.

Human languages have the ability to combine, superimpose, and overlap in a way you don’t see with today’s digital tools. Example: you can start with basic English rules and vocabulary, then superimpose Southern dialect, then superimpose some words you only find in Nashville, then superimpose a few words or phrases that have special meaning within your circle of friends, etc. The flexibility is remarkable.

i first heard german poetry in the form of Einstuerzende Neubauten
when i was in prison a moroccan berber dude told me that in his opinion french poetry is very nice but greek is the best, dude had english bulgarian greek french and arabic, was in the can due to bad business translating and resorting to weed dealing
(he also had a koran for me to read of a reputedly high quality of translation, which was a trip... seriously, they always go on about mohammed but mohammed went on so much about jesus! and the angel gabriel.....)
