Hey there #damus peeps and #nostr - Happy New Year…. After getting fed up with the shit that Alby did to my Sats combined with their shitty documentation I decided to look at alternatives.. unfortunately there is zero way to self host a lightning wallet (due to the need to have liquidity on the chain to back it). But so far for the 100 bucks worth of bitcoin I spent using #cluborange at least I have something that seems stable enough and there’s enough usage of it that I won’t outright *lose* sats..

I’ll get right to the point - If you are looking for a decent way to send sats around without the risk of losing a lightning channel - for now at least Club Orange seems to get the job done.. and I have a referral link if you decide to join…

I have not. For my use case (being able to zap and not lose a lightning channel due to arbitrary rules suddenly imposed that didn’t apply in prior months) it is suited my needs so far. But I’ll keep Geozap in mind.

More like what they did NOT do…. They closed my lightning channel with no warning and put my sats off chain so that I could transfer them back if I wanted to open a new channel… However, when I went through the documentation and tried it, I lost all of my stats. And when I contacted them to get help to figure out what was going on, they told me I would have to pay them for them to do the analysis to figure out what went wrong. For a group that started out as going with the notion that we needed to stick it to the big banks they sure act a lot like the big banks. So fuck them.
