trying to convince a plebdev that filtering ordinal inscriptions is technically contributing to utxoset bloat and failing

making an inscription is a two-step process. first, you send bitcoin to the hash of a script. this creates an output in the utxoset
second, you spend that output revealing the script. this is the part that gets blocked by filtering, but it leaves the output created in step one forever stuck as a utxo
you canโt block step one unless you block the creation of every taproot output and thatโs pretty absurd
These arnt getting blocked at all though are they? Only on at the individual Mempool level are these not being enabled and that should be celebrated
i donโt know what is happening, im trying to explain what the impact is when you try to filter out inscriptions
โน๏ธ From Bitcoin the network or your own Mempool ? I think thereโs a significant difference, and that difference is what often gets lost in this conversation unfortunately
Filtering is contributing to the bloat? I can see how it's falling, but not how it adds to bloat except for the fact that it doesn't help.
Ya I donโt see it
