Those corrupted DMs aren't from me. They're a Damus bug. I'm aware that many of you are now receiving these DMs.

Please report them to nostr:npub1zafcms4xya5ap9zr7xxr0jlrtrattwlesytn2s42030lzu0dwlzqpd26k5 or nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s

Are you the one sending them? Everything you write gives me an error.

its not really a bug, this happens if clients are creating DMs with you tagged in it. This is a bug with the client sending the DMs, they are leaking tags. this is really bad for that client and the privacy of their users.

We can hide it under a dev option for sure though. It would take 2 seconds for anyone who wants to do this, we are open source. it's not at the top of our list to fix at the moment.

ouch

Will, has it not occured to you that someone might be leveraging a flaw in your object model to troll me, by sending a steady stream of your users my way, asking me why I keep DMing them weird stuff they can't open?

These DMs aren't random. They are a steady, constant stream directed toward people I follow, day after day, for at least two weeks.

This is the Damus DM equivalent of someone ordering 🍕 from every delivery place in town and having it sent to my house.

Very funny.
