Weekly #writing #wip progress: 2134 net words added to current manuscript.

Mulled wine at critique group and the rest of the group is really blowing me a way with quality of their submissions at the moment.

Detective writing seminar was very helpful, worth driving to Caboolture but possibly not breaking my healthy eating streak to eat a donut. I now feel more adventurous about attempting a contemporary crime book next (with speculative or horror elements, don’t worry)

What's this one about?

A two-thousand year old town planner moves to Brisbane for a new job and makes friends professional dog walker when he gets stuck with the mayor’s dog. They’ve all got memory problems, because 2000 years old, acquired brain injury, and the pup just ain’t very smart. (I’ll nail the longline next draft :D) Originally outlined as a romance, but I don’t know what I’ve got at the moment. No one is kissing!

I must be still hangover from the mulled wine, typos everywhere!

Anyone know that this person is 2000 years old?

Just the one, kind of a frienemy who is as old as him. They have strict rules of engagement and compete over silly town-planning things so they don’t go to actual war with each other like in the olden days. Originally the story was going to be about them, but the romance seemed more intriguing
