This is really cool, James. Makes the Obsidian fans’ workflow so much easier, I imagine. I actually use Obsidian to compose long-form posts for nostr:npub1048qg5p6kfnpth2l98kq3dffg097tutm4npsz2exygx25ge2k9xqf5x3nf and then copy-paste them into the editor at the moment.

Quick question: could you elaborate on how the plug-in handles private keys please?

I’d like to prepare a guide on posting to Nostr with Obsidian, but not technical enough to figure out this important aspect and, hence, explain it to the readers.

Thanks 😊 it’s something I wanted for myself and glad others find it useful! The private key is saved in a file in the the plug-in folder within your obsidian vault folder. It’s security is dependent on your laptop security, it never leaves your device. It’s also important you don’t upload the entire vault directory folder to the cloud for backup (iCloud / Google Drive etc.). Using Obsidian Sync is fine. There is a Security Notice in the readme of the plug-in with more detail. Hope this helps.
