What else does a kettle do? My wife boils water to squirt up her nose. Does it do anything besides tea and boogers?

I think that alone merits every household getting one.
But yes, a kettle boils water, faster and more efficiently than anything else, so don’t heat water on the stove, use a kettle.
Do you boil water in the kettle and transfer it to a pot for cooking? Seems harder than just putting the pot on the stove.
Yes, not sure of the concept of harder, just depends if you want to wait 30 secs for a kettle to boil or 5 minutes for the hob to do the same job for 5 times the cost and 20% of the efficiency.
The concept of boiling water on a hob in the UK doesn’t exist.
