PayPal will sell your data unless you opt out. The opting out part is confusing too.

I use PayPal primarily because it makes it easy to cancel things I sign up for. In the UI it’s a few clicks and you’re done. I could care less about the money sending function.

But it’s getting harder to justify using that platform. The alternative is to pay for everything with cc and use those services websites to cancel. The problem is that a lot of those places use shady techniques to make cancellation difficult 😞 and some companies don’t offer any other option that doesn’t involve a bunch of annoying steps.

Perhaps the real solution is to just stop paying for services entirely by avoiding them 🤷‍♂️

Totally disgusted with Paypal. They locked me out, for no apparent reason, then I had to wade through AI bot. Finally got a real person, and dropped me midway through the conversation.

Have you ever considered privacy.com ?

Haha just found it

Need a US number

Bummer. I've used it. It's a good service.

Yes, that’s also why I try to subscribe though Apple when I can. Sure it’s usually more expensive, and I know many on here despise Apple, but at least unsubscribing is super easy.

Trying to close my PayPal acc now but it won’t let me 🤦‍♂️

Depends on where you are. I only know the opt-out for the US.

PayPal will soon be irrelevant. Cash Ap, Apple Pay and Revolut are a few that come to mind. Could any of these platforms work for you as a PayPal replacement?
