The Hyogo Prefectural Police ‘Life Safety Special Investigation Team’ and the Nagata Police Station arrested a 57-year-old self-employed man from Nagata Ward, Kobe, on suspicion of indecent assault.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of hugging a 31-year-old female employee at a hair salon in Nagata between 11:35 a.m. and 11:40 a.m. on March 13.

According to the police report, the woman did not know the man who entered the store to make an appointment. He presented the woman with a single rose while delivering “proposal-like words” and suddenly hugged the woman after she took the rose from his hand. When the woman resisted, he left the store in a hurry.

Afterwards, the man reportedly checked on the store on two occasions, leading the hairdresser to file a complaint. The officers arrested the man who showed up at the hair salon on the day of the reservation. The man denied the charges.
