If you have a new Samsung phone or Google Pixel phone, you should disable VoLTE and WiFi calling until your device is patched. Otherwise, attackers could take over your phone without you even knowing. Yikes. The latest March security bulletin that just rolled out for the Pixel 7 line fixes this, but the Pixel 6 line has not gotten the update, yet, but should soon. Samsung... πŸ‘€

The patch happened for US phones on March of this year now. We are waiting for the UK to get the update. I believe.

Right. The update just rolled out this week for Pixel phones. I got it Monday.

Nice!!! This had me worried lmao

I've got Pixel 6 pro and still no patch. Last was in February and I am in US. Dammit

Lol even in Malta it is already patched. UK surprises me if this is the case... Sadge.

The article I read might be a few weeks old.

Yikes

Before attacking Samsung, Google has to work hard to protect Android users and raise the level of protection above the current

Samsung has historically been the bottom of the barrel when it comes to Android updates to their bastardized software platform. Their hardware is great though, it's just bogged down by their horrible software UI.

One nice thing about the Pixel is rapid updates. Of course, if you unlock your Galaxy, you can install the vanilla android that's on the Pixels and have most of the same experience. You just won't get some of the advanced assistant features like call screening.

Last of course, putting Google in charge of your identity sucks, but I haven't been able to get away from it yet. Using a Pixel 7 pro right now.

Deal with updating your devices with latest security patches like you deal with your personal hygiene
