When you’re on a train or in a car with 100mph and let an egg drop it doesn’t all of a sudden fly onto your back window it still falls straight down but the egg is also still traveling forward with 100mph.

And measured from the moment you dropped it to the moment it reaches the bottom of the vehicle it actually didn’t fall straight down but rather flew in an arch forward.
