Venerable Visarion, born in 1714 in Gorj County, Romania, became a monk at Lainici Monastery. His life was marked by unwavering faith and fervent preaching, urging repentance and adherence to Orthodox teachings. Facing persecution for his beliefs, he was arrested and subjected to brutal tortures by those opposing Orthodoxy. Visarion endured these trials with steadfastness, never renouncing his faith. He was ultimately martyred, becoming a symbol of resilience and devotion.

Holy Visarion, pray that we may have the strength to uphold our faith amidst adversity and to live lives pleasing to God.
