#nostrasia in 2 weeks! Can't wait to meet you all friendly psychos

I've have been in Japan for over 3 weeks now. Some quick tips from me to yall:

- Japan is much cheaper than they say, way cheaper than western Europe or US. Lunch prices can start from $3.50 and typical capsule hotel night cost about $20-30 (they are usually very clean and have good amenities, sometimes baths/spa, etc)

- Japan is very much cash country. Credit cards are used in markets and a lot of places, but often they don't accept contactless payments

- Tokyo's metro and Japan's train system in general is massive, but actually quite easy to navigate, especially if you use Google maps. The only thing you have to look at are line names/colors and platforms, both shown in Google maps. It's good to buy IC card for convenient metro (and trains) usage - If you have iPhone you can create it straight in your Apple wallet (I hope FOSS stuff can provide similar UX some day...)

- Public toilets are everywhere in Japan - every tourist attraction, museum, temple, train station, metro station, etc. They are always free and clean.

- Famous japanese toilets are pretty neat. Buttons to flush it are usually on a on wall or side of the toilet

- Beers, even lagers are pretty good better, imho better than most eurolsgers. There's also craft scene and a lot of good speciality coffe places

- Sushi in convenience stores and supermarkets is really good for the price and cheap - similar level to western sushi restaurants I'd say

- When you're handing something to others or receiving something from someone - do it using both hands to hold the thing.

- There's very little trash bins on the street. Usually you can find bins for cans and plastic bottles around vending machines, but for everything else you will most likely need to carry your trash to the hotel you're staying. So always have some plastic bag with you to put your trash in there. You can often find general bins inside convenience stores though.

See you soon <3
