The issue is that the environment that made necessary the Patriot act is still there and worst. The excuse has been carefully built and it will take a long time to take it away. We are not totally fucked but it's made so the only way to reverse this course is violence.

The Patriot Act was never necessary. The CIA and the FBI had a perfect record for 50 years and one incident isn’t enough to destroy the constitution in perpetuity.
The constitution was the most terrible hit to a world that considered generational power inevitable. The protection of freedom of the single person was a change they planned to destroy from the beginning. People forget easily what freedom is. Watch around today. They consider crazy what I considered normal few decades ago.
