I don’t know what a wapoo is but thank you for sharing!

Its cree for rabbit, friend taught it to me years ago.

Well I learned something new!

I considered this for a while, couldn’t get my wife on board with it haha. But it’s a good idea if you’re able to manage them!

It took me awhile to give my husband the okay to get them too

Once you got them, what were the biggest learning curves?

Really not a whole lot. They handle cold better then heat so learning when we needed to give them extra cooling was the biggest thing. We learned that first time litters are iffy and it’s normal for the the kits to not make it. Being consistent with breeding and keeping up with kindling schedules is something we are still trying organize better.

This is next on our list to add to the homestead. We’ve been researching. Need to get the infrastructure started, and locate a source for a good heat tolerant breed.

We only have 1/2 acre so it was a great choice for us with the space. We started with them outside in fancy KW cages and have since moved them into a shed. We found a local mink farmer going out of business so my husband went and got a bunch and restructured them to work for the rabbits. It’s nice having them in a building with the amount of rain storms and wind we get coming off of the farm fields
