But before becoming an expert, everyone has to start at the basic....if entry-level positions vanish, then the cost of learning to be an expert (translated into higher education costs???) will be higher.

Maybe I'm viewing this the wrong way 🤷

You're not necessarily wrong, but you are arguing against the inevitable. So it's more productive to come up with ideas to help people with the basics.
