The idea behind the podcast comes from my own wanting to listen beyond the first 30 seconds of most Bitcoin pods, where the guest introduces themselves and talks a little bit about how they discovered Bitcoin...

People love listening to other people's stories, right?

Stories are how we connect. Stories have the power to persuade. When you listen to someone you identify with describe their own experience about this or that, you're more likely to want to try it for yourself...

Aside the from personal therapy it provides me whenever I get to speak with other Bitcoiners, Discovering Bitcoin is an attempt to deliver the orange pill in a sly roundabout way, implicitly and voluntarily, via osmosis, esp. to noobs and pre-coiners. To get them to try it...

To discover Bitcoin is difficult (it takes work) but the journey is universally personal.

It seems to take a certain type of person to let themselves fall down the rabbit hole this early. Being curious and a contrarian seem to be prerequisites in the guests I've had on so far...

A clear and present incentive to try and solve a personal problem helps too.

It's taken me the best part of three years to work up the courage to start this podcast, or even discuss Bitcoin publicly. I wish I'd started sooner. Bitcoiners are some of the best people in the world to talk with.
